I happened across this blog hop for a cause for Jaimie while blurfing (blog surfing). It certainly touched my heart so I wanted to join in the cause. I have been sick for over a week and have not felt up to card making, but this evening I felt half way decent and decided I would pump out a simple card for her. I know her fav colors are bright pink and black, but I also wanted to add some other bright colors to make it cheery as well to go with what I wanted to do with the image. So, I still kept with some bright pink with some bling from the DCWV pp (drawing blank on the stack name) and added some black, which always seems to be my go to neutral color which just makes things pop. The digi image is my own "Jessie" and she will soon be available in my upcoming site so keep your eyes open for upcoming details. I used my Bic Mark-its to color the image to match the pp and layered the flower to match as well. Used this pretty green ribbon and I had this orange tile that was a perfect match in color and it was perfect what I wanted the card to convey to her; to have hope for her tomorrows.
Here is some information about what happened:
"On October 4th, 4 teenagers armed with knives broke into a home in a small town in New Hampshire. Alone and sleeping inside were a mother and her 11 year old daughter. These 4 boys broke into this home with the intent to rob and kill anyone inside. They stabbed the mom, Kimberly Cates, to death and left her daughter, Jaimie, for dead in their driveway. It was a completely random act, their home was chosen only due to its secluded surroundings."
I am certain this little girl and her father will be overwhelmed with the grace and love that is coming through all these cards. I know I certainly am. Even though the blog hop ends tomorrow you can always still make and send Jaimie a card. Grace like this doesn't have a time frame. May we always find our blessings in everyday.
